Thai Massage in Alcohol Rehab

Thai Massage in Alcohol Rehab

Thai massage is a type of traditional medicine that uses deep massage and stressing to manipulate the body’s internal energy system. Thai massage is said to have been created by the Buddha’s physician over 2,500 years ago. Thai massage has been an important part of medical treatment in Thailand for many centuries but in the recent decades it also has become very popular in other parts of the world. Thai massage is far more energetic than other types of massage and it involves a lot of stretching. Some people describe getting a Thai massage like doing yoga but someone else is doing the work. Thai massage therapists use different parts of their own body when working with the client including their feet.

There are a number of benefits associated with Thai massage including:

  • It helps people relax
  • It improves blood circulation around the body
  • Can make people feel energized
  • It is good for releasing stress from the body – it is particularly effective at releasing muscle tension.
  • It helps to center the mind and body
  • It is good for increasing flexibility
  • Improves physical range of motion
  • It helps to boost the immune system. This means that the individual will be less likely to fall ill because the body is better equipped to fight off infections.
  • It may improve digestion
  • It is a spiritual practice

All of the benefits of thai massage makes it an essential practice or treatment for someone who is in alcohol rehab. This is part of the reason thai massage and alcohol rehab go hand in hand. Here are some of the benefits thai massage has for people in alcohol rehab:

  • It can help alleviate insomnia, and this can be a particular problem for people in early recovery. The ability to get a good nice sleep might also help reduce the feeling of mental fogginess that is associated with post acute withdrawal symptoms.
  • It can help reduce feelings of restlessness by releasing trapped energy.
  • Most people who enter recovery will be in poor physical condition. Thai massage can help these individuals return to full health.
  • It is common for newly sober people to have a great deal of stress stored in their muscles and this can be experienced as tension and tightness. Thai massage can help release this stress.
  • Those people who are new to recovery can experience a great deal of stress as they adjust to their new life. Thai massage may help them deal better with this discomfort.
  • Thai massage can help people feel better mentally.
  • Those people who choose a new life away from addiction may see this as taking a more spiritual path in life. Thai massage can be a good asset on any spiritual journey because this is why it was originally developed.

When people enter into alcohol rehab they usually are experiencing a slew of negative symptoms that thai massage can help with. This is why thai massage is offered at many alcohol rehabs as part of a comprehensive overall wellness plan.

Advantages of Private Drug Rehab

Advantages of Private Drug Rehab

When you are choosing a rehab center you must also have to choose between a public and private drug rehab. While both private drug rehab and public drug rehab have some advantages, you want to pick the drug rehab that is right for you and in many instances that tends to be a private drug rehab.

The primary advantage of a public drug rehab is the low or even no cost to attend it. If money isn’t an issue for you than private drug rehab will be perfect for you. While private drug rehab isn’t low or no cost it is worth the amount it costs to go because it has many added benefits that you are paying for.

Here are the advantages of private drug rehab:

Advantages of private drug rehab: Privacy

Just as the name private drug rehab states, it also provides just that: privacy. A private drug rehab, much unlike a public drug rehab, will have a smaller group which means that privacy is much more tended too. The less people that know about your attendance at private drug rehab the better right? Also private drug rehab is specifically designed around the idea of being especially discreet and confidential. Private drug rehab offers specific services to keep this in mind such as transportation and single person accommodations.

Advantages of private drug rehab: People just like you

Because of the cost to attend private drug rehab, the people who attend it usually to be fairly the same economically and career-wise. This means that you will have people who you can relate to and who most likely have some of the same financial, familial, and career issues that you have. This is especially helpful when trying to get off drugs and keep everything in tact at the same time. You will be able to bounce ideas and solutions off your peers.

Advantages of private drug rehab: More one on one time

Because not as many people go to private drug rehab there are less people in attendance. This means that all the focus and care that you need you will be able to get. There will be no waiting to see a therapist or getting help for when you are struggling with something. You will be able to receive a unique and specialized program for helping you stay sober and be able to utilize anytime you want.

Advantages of private drug rehab: All the other stuff

Private drug rehab usually offers many luxury amenities and this is part of the reason it costs a bit more to go. It is well worth it though because private drug rehab offers many things such as:

  • Acupuncture
  • Vitamin Therapy
  • Massage Therapy
  • Chiropractic care
  • Gym memberships
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Yoga classes
  • Luxury accommodations
  • Private transportation
  • Catered meals
  • Nutrition groups
  • Spa days
  • Deep sea fishing

And a lot more. Private drug rehab also allows you other specific things that public drug rehab couldn’t so you can keep everything in order while you attend. For instance you will be allowed your cellphone and laptop in order to keep your business or career moving forward while you get better again.

There are tons of advantages of private rehab that make it well worth it. The biggest advantage of private rehab though is the fact that you get to get your life back, get sober, and learn how to stay sober all in the comfortable and relaxing environment of a luxury treatment center.

Entitlement and Drug Addiction

Entitlement and Drug Addiction

Entitlement is the opposite of humility – not living outside your means, respecting others, understanding accountability and responsibility. Constantly getting your own way can create a mindset of entitlement that will cause an otherwise charming and friendly person to turn into a whiny or confrontational person if anyone dares deny them what they want. When entitlement and drug addiction come together, the result can debilitate the addict and frustrate their family.

Entitlement and drug addiction go hand in hand. Entitlement can both encourage the development of an addiction as well as keep its fire burning brightly.

A user who is already entitled can quickly begin to feel that they deserve to do what they want, including harming themselves through substance abuse. This entitlement doesn’t just happen suddenly; it usually develops through emotions from formative experiences.

Sources of Entitlement

Negative experiences- Negative experiences such as abuse, poor childhood experiences, loss of a loved one, can fuel feelings of being entitled.

Positive experiences – Inheriting a fortune, being famous, or simply being part of a successful family can make someone feel that they deserve to have and do whatever they want, including using drugs.

Aspects of Entitlement

Guilt and Shame – A person who is experiencing feelings of guilt and shame might find themselves developing a grandiose self-image to protect their inner most feelings. For example, the schoolyard bully usually has a reason for being that way: his inflated sense of self has been developed to protect his feelings of shame and guilt.

Pride – Pride can often be a person’s biggest downfall. For someone who has been taught to have a strong sense of pride either through their upbringing or their success, he might feel that he deserves to do what he wants, or feel the need to keep up his appearance. This idea can lead to the continuation of an addiction.

The Combination of Entitlement and Drug Addiction – the Problems is Poses

Entitled people who become addicted to drugs more than likely do not see a problem with their behavior. When confronted about their drug use, they may be indifferent, angry, or be in denial.

Treatment for Someone with Entitlement and Drug Addiction

There are treatment centers that cater to those with entitlement and drug addiction issues. These facilities are high-end with numerous services and amenities. They can provide for the entitled individual while helping them learn humility and coping methods for their addiction. Luxury treatment centers offer upscale amenities while providing the highest quality of treatment and therapies so that your loved one can be comfortable and therefore open to learning some of the uncomfortable things about themselves, such as entitlement and drug addiction. Remember, oftentimes people with a sense of entitlement can often be in great denial about their drug addiction. In fact, denial is a major part of addiction and is a huge stumbling block to getting much-needed help. By sending your loved one to a luxurious, high-end treatment facility, they will feel more at ease because they will have the creature comforts they are used to having. This approach of luxury accommodations and real world therapy is ideal because they will then be more open-minded as well as less distracted and therefore treatment will have a greater chance to be successful.

Confidentiality in Luxury Treatment Centers

Confidentiality in Luxury Treatment Centers

You have been taking care of others your whole life: family, friends, employees, your community. You take on the world and are happy to do so. Sometimes, all that stress gets to be too much and you find yourself turning to self-destructive ways of coping. At first, it’s a glass of wine in the evening or taking something for your nerves.

After a while though, you feel like you cannot manage without these. You know that you need and want to get away from it all and learn to heal and relax. You may even be aware that there is treatment for just that. And you may be worried about your privacy. You don’t want others to know your private pain and struggle.

You can relax and take comfort in knowing that there is help available and that it is strictly confidential. Confidentiality is two-fold, really. First, there are policies and practices established to protect your privacy and confidentiality.

Confidentiality and HIPAA

If you are employed, you have the freedom to take medical leave, also afforded to you by law and, just like any other medical information, going into treatment is protected by the confidentiality clause outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) passed in 1996. The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered employees and gives them an array of rights with respect to that information.

Moreover, it has been long recognized that special considerations for confidentiality are needed for health care organizations that offer federally-funded drug or alcohol rehabilitation services. So, over a quarter century before HIPAA was passed, the Comprehensive Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Act of 1970 was passed, which specifically calls for discretion and confidentiality when it comes to those seeking alcohol and/or drug treatment.

Your colleagues, business partners, employers, and employees will only know whatever it is you choose to tell them. You may be going away for a vacation, or a business meeting, or to attend to a family affair or celebration

Highly Confidential Therapeutic Setting

Secondly, confidentiality refers to the one of the standards of excellence that the staff at a luxury treatment center has when it comes to respecting your need for privacy. The only one who will know that you are in treatment is you and whomever you choose to tell. That said, even your family members will be unaware of you entering a program. Staff does not divulge your personal information unless you have given explicit and express consent for them to do so.

Going to treatment is like a destination getaway for relaxation, serenity, and healing. Imagine your own personal oasis where you are pampered and have all your needs provided for.

Addiction recovery doesn’t have to be a daunting experience. A luxury treatment center provides private rehabilitation programs that are designed to meet your specific requests. The goal is to provide you with your own personal retreat while encouraging your growth towards the highest level of personal change.

When an individual of your standing thinks about checking in to a private rehab, you need to have trust in the fact that your personal information will be kept completely confidential. Rest assured that your personal privacy is top priority. You will never have to worry about the prying eyes of others while recovering in a luxurious executive drug rehab. It is a discreet and nurturing setting.

Celebrity in Recovery Profile: Rob Lowe

rob lowe, Rob Lowe

Robert Hepler, better known as Rob Lowe is an American film and television star. He got his fame after appearing in movies such as The Outsiders, Oxford Blues, St. Elmo ’s Fire, and the Austin Powers’ movies. Rob Lowe also was on The West Wing and is currently playing the character Chris Traeger on Parks and Recreation. Rob Lowe has been a famous actor since the early 80’s but more importantly he is a celebrity in recovery.

In 1988, Rob Lowe was involved in a sex scandal over a videotape of him having sex with two women. One of the women was 16 and the other was 22. They were filmed with Lowe right before the night of the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta Georgia. Rob had asserted that he did not know that the second girl was underage and it was confirmed that the two had met at a bar. At the time, Rob was campaigning for Michael Dukakis. Another part of the tape was leaked at the same time as this and it showed Rob Lowe and his friend Justin Morritt, both having sex with a young American model named Jennifer in a hotel room in Paris.

Rob called his sex tape scandal the best thing that ever happened to him because it forced him to get help.

On May 10th, Rob Lowe who is now 49 celebrated 23 years of sobriety. Rob Lowe says his addictions were sex and alcohol. He does have a wife and he describes her as being his best friend and the opposite of an enabler. He credits his wife for helping him successfully battle his addiction. The thing about Rob Lowe was that he was absolutely ready for help when he went to rehab in his 20s.

Rob Lowe spoke with Piers Morgan about his positive experience with rehab while promoting his memoir in 2011.

“It was great. I loved it. Because I was ready. Problem is, people go into rehab and they’re not ready,” Lowe explained. “You want to get sober for your parents, you want to get sober for your job, you want to get sober for the cops, you want to get sober to protect your image. A lot of good reasons, by the way, but unfortunately, the only thing that works is that you have to want to get sober for you. So, I was ready. And so if they told me, ‘Hey, Lowe, you’ve got to go stand in the corner on your head,’ I would have done it. I was ready. And so if they told me, ‘Hey, Lowe, you’ve got to go stand in the corner on your head,’ I would have done it.”

He told Piers that he’s the type of person who just can’t one glass of wine, so he’s abstained from alcohol ever since “If I have a glass of wine, inevitably it’s two glasses of wine, it just begins. That’s how you know you’re one of us or you’re not.”

What makes our luxury rehab program different?

What makes our luxury rehab program different?

There are many things that make our luxury rehab program different from traditional treatment. Luxury rehab programs are designed to allow you to recover in the utmost comfort. Our luxury rehab program offers luxurious accommodations and amenities in a resort-style setting, all the while offering the most up to date addiction treatment protocols.

Traditional rehab environments offer treatment in drab, hospital like settings. They employ a philosophy aimed at treating the highest number of patients and focus less on individualized care. However, every client is different, and sometimes this standardized program ignores the specific needs of individuals.

Our luxury rehab program is different. Instead of creating a standard program for all clients, our luxury rehab program offers personalized care aimed specifically at the needs of each individual client. The program is designed during the intake process and it is continually reevaluated throughout your stay.

Our luxury rehab program understands that the same treatment protocols don’t work for everyone. Our luxury rehab program is able to provide a wide range of treatment options. Cognitive behavioral therapy, holistic treatment protocols, career and relationship coaching, and trauma resolution are just a few of the options available in our luxury rehab program.

Many traditional rehab programs require that you share accommodations with several other people as well as perform menial tasks like cleaning and cooking. The lodging is usually utilitarian, and does not focus on ambiance or comfort.

Our luxury rehab program understands the need for a soothing, calm environment while you focus completely on your recovery. It aims to provide the most comfortable, serene conditions that eliminate the stressors of the outside world. You will have private accommodations as well as chef, cleaning, and laundry services.

Clients at traditional rehab programs are usually given one-size-fits-all treatment and very little one-on-one time. Most of the therapy is given in groups, and clients must participate even if the particular group topic doesn’t apply to them. Many hours of valuable treatment time are wasted this way, and sometimes the specific problems of individuals are overlooked because there is so little one-on-one time.

Because Our luxury rehab program caters to fewer clients, they are able to offer more one on one attention. Besides the one-on-one time with your therapist, the nurses, techs, and other staff will be able to offer you individual attention. If there is a problem or concern with your stay, staff members will be able to respond immediately at any time of day or night! In our luxury rehab program, you are the first priority.

By offering more one-on-one time our staff is able to direct your needs directly, identify problem areas immediately, and alter your treatment plan to give you the best possible care. Our luxury rehab program is designed for people who have addiction issues, but who may not have the educational, financial or legal issues faced by people in less expensive programs. They certainly need help for their addictions, but they may not need the same kind of help as people at lower income levels.

Out of Town Luxury Rehab

Out of Town Luxury Rehab

When most people look for drug and alcohol treatment, their first instinct is to find something close to home. They may be hesitant to leave family, friends, or work behind. They may not think they will be able to get away for the duration of treatment, and want a place nearby so they can switch to outpatient or just go home if they are overwhelmed. However, there are a lot of reasons to consider an out of town luxury rehab.

Out of Town Luxury Rehab: Getting away from environmental triggers

One of the advantages of going to an out of town luxury rehab is that you will get away from environmental triggers that could cause you to relapse. In treatment, you will learn tools for dealing with triggers, but in early sobriety, it is best to avoid them. Think about it, at home you know how to get drugs, you know who to manipulate for money and where your dealer lives. This can be a dangerous temptation while you are trying to recover.

Going to an out of town luxury rehab also gets you away from stressors like your job, familial obligations, and friends that you used with. You will be able to focus completely on your recovery. Addiction treatment is not something you can do on the weekends, or when it is convenient for you. You must immerse yourself in a treatment setting to have the best chance of recovery. An out of town luxury rehab will allow you to do this. Consider the fact that if you don’t seek treatment now, you may not have a life to go back to. It is best to get rid of all distractions and focus on your recovery completely.

Out of Town Luxury Rehab: Privacy

A lot of the people who seek treatment at a luxury rehab put a high value on privacy. They may be celebrities, professional sports players, or high ranking business executives. Going to rehab could tarnish their reputation and affect their career. Out of town luxury rehab is the best choice for anyone who puts a premium on privacy and confidentiality. Getting away from a place where your face and name is familiar is the best way to ensure that your drug and alcohol treatment stays private. Also, knowing that your treatment is private is essential for many people to be able to open up about their issues. Being open and honest is a vital part of treatment and recovery.

Out of Town Luxury Rehab: Better chance of completion

You also have a better chance of completing treatment if you go to an out of town luxury rehab. When you are near home, it can be too easy to just give up and leave. You have friends and family members that could just pick you up. At an out of town luxury rehab, it will take more time to leave. You may have to buy a plane ticket or make other travel arrangements. In this time, you may reconsider your decision. You will be far less likely to leave on a whim, which you may later regret.

If you or a loved one are in need of luxury drug and alcohol rehab please give our addiction specialist a call 24/7 at 800-845-6827.
